My name is Clyde and you can see more of my pictures of me below. I hate to admit it, but I don’t like other cats too much, but I like my buddy, the dog, Love, so she and I hang out the most. Occasionally, I do get in a bad mood and slap the dog with my paw, but that’s because she gets in my space. haha! I’m doing better with this, though. Sometimes, now, I like to lay next to the dog. I guess she is teaching me to be more chill. When my pet parent, Andrea, adopted me, it was because my other pet parent passed away. His name was Mr. Holloway and he was a 93 year old world war vet. I was really sad when he died. When he died, I grieved. I walked around the house looking for him but he never was there. I used to sleep at the end of his bed curled up in a ball. If he woke up in the middle of the night, I would get up to follow him around the house to make sure he was okay. I was there with him when he watched tv. I even helped him when something wasn’t right with some of his medical conditions. I could sense it. Andrea and a few other ladies were his caregivers, so they all helped feed me and scoop out and change my litter. At first, I didn’t like anyone to hold me, but Andrea set a goal to get me used to being held. I actually liked it. I learned to curl up in a ball and sleep in her lap while she sat in the other chair next to Mr. Holloway. I also liked to sit near him. He had a table for me to sit next to him while he sat in his recliner. Mr. Holloway’s son, Joe, and his partner, Debbie, really loved me too. They would come see me every day, sometimes twice a day, pet me, and read the news paper. One day when Mr. Holloway was talking to Andrea he told her didn’t know what would happen to me if he died. She told him not to worry because she promised to make sure I was taken care of. Since that time, she has taken care of me. At first she kept me at my own house, but then Joe and Debbie decided it was best for me to let me go live with Andrea instead of stay in the house all by myself. I’m so glad Andrea adopted me and took me in. I’m with her until I die. She is my forever home. I know she’ll keep her word to Mr. Holloway. I’ve been hers since 2018, but she has helped take care of me since May 2015 as a previous caregiver to my past owner. In 2020, I met Drew, when Andrea, my pet mom, married. Now, together, they are both my home. I’m currently aging and have an auto immune issue going on with my health. I have to get shots to maintain my health. My mom is trying to find a alternative remedy for my autoimmune challenge. It affects my throat and teeth. It can be hard to eat when my shot wears off. But, as long as I have my monthly shots, I’m okay. I still like to play and get frisky. My favorite place to sleep is in a box, or on the end of my mom’s bed on a towel when she lets me. She says I wake her up at night, so at night I can’t be in her room. It’s true, I do wake her up because I want her to pet me at 3 am. haha! Anyway, if you know of anything to help, please, would you let my pet mom and dad know if you know anything that helps autoimmune issues in cats? If you would like to sponsor me, I would appreciate it! I need to eat really really soft food so I eat premium soft food called Sheba because of my teeth and gums. My favorite is the really soft seafood entree and the tender white fish and tuna pack. It can be a little steep in price, but because of my condition, it’s easier to eat. For one month it costs approximately $125-$150 a month to feed me, depending on how much I eat each day. My shots are approximately $65 a month. I also use litter, but I go through about one bucket of litter each month (I think). I’ll ask my mom. But to be safe, let’s just say it’s about $10-$20 a month. I also sometimes get little cat trees to hide in and toys and things like that, but usually I’m happy keeping it simple. Well, time to run to go scare Love. haha, Just kidding. It’s nap time! I’ll be nice. I love you, Love Clyde P.S. I have more stories to come. Stay tuned!
